We believe that Lower Farm has a rather special
atmosphere and we are happy to welcome guests into our home. This old
farmhouse was previously a coaching inn and has offered hospitality to
visitors over several centuries. In the past travellers arrived here in
horse drawn vehicles, making the lengthy and often arduous journey between
London and the West Country. Today's visitors, following much the same
route as those earlier travellers, can find a warm welcome, rest and
comfort in this mellow old building, nestling on the edge of the peaceful
hamlet of Kingweston. This is the heart of rural Somerset, English
farmland, steeped in the history of King Arthur and close to one of the
oldest Christian shrines at nearby Glastonbury. Visitors are also well
placed to visit many other places of interest including Wells, Bath,
Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge and Taunton, while Clarke's Village at Street
provides very modern shopping facilities. Visitors who wish to take a
leisurely break and savour the peace and quiet of their
surroundings are welcome to relax in the comfortable guest
accommodation, which is equipped to a high standard, or enjoy the
pleasant, mature garden. There are a number of inns or restaurants
locally, many using local produce, which cater for a variety of
tastes, and we are happy to assist you to choose and book a table.
Our English breakfasts are traditional farmhouse fare, an experience not to be missed, although special
diets or requests can be catered for with prior notice. Every effort is
made to ensure your visit here is enjoyable. A discount is given for
bookings of a week or more, or for families with young children. |
